The myth of Demeter and Persephone

Persephone is the daughter of Demeter who is the god of agriculture, when Hades, god of the underworld kidnaps Persephone and keeps her in the underworld for about a year and for that whole year Demeter grieves at the expense of the people. Nothing grows in the fields throughout the land. Eventually Zeus sends a messenger down to his brother. Hades tricks Persephone into eating a pomegranate seed, which makes it so she has to come back to the underworld for six months out of the year and for that six months Demeter mourns for her daughter whose innocence was left down there the first time she went, and during her mourning time the land would once again become cold and nothing would grow, eventually Persephone learns to love Hades who was lonely.
The people are affected because it seems like they are the ones being punished for what Hades has done, no food grows while Persephone is in the underworld. But once while Demeter is wandering the earth in mourning she enters the home of a family and starts raising their child. She tries to give the child some of the powers of a demi- god by throwing it into the fire every night and when the family finds this out there's a big deal and Demeter commands them to make her a temple, which they do and she makes this where she stays during her times of mourning.
During this time Persephone is depressed because she misses her mother but at the same time this is a time for her to be out from her mothers wing for a little while, so as much as she’s depressed she’s also recognizing this is a chance for her to get out and live a little.
The whole reason why Hades kidnapped Persephone is because he’s lonely down in the underworld all by himself so he takes her as company and at the same time changes the way the whole world ran until that point. Everything changed not only in the main characters lives but also in the peoples lives and nature. After Persephone realizes that she has to go down to the underworld for six months out of the year because she ate the pomegranate seed she realizes she might have to fall in love so she won’t be miserable for the rest of her life.
